About me

My name is Zory, and I like painting and gardening. 

I've loved to draw and paint my whole life, but after high school I wouldn't paint unless I was feeling inspired. I never stopped doodling all over everything though! About 8 years ago I realized I didn't have anything that was just for me. I needed a hobby. I have been studying and practicing painting on almost a daily basis ever since.  I've been making portraits for friends and family for some time now, but for my own exercises I really enjoy creating abstractly and landscapes in an impressionistic style. 

Gardening is an ongoing lesson and is a great way to spend time in nature. Our family likes to keep ducks for eggs, and sometimes chickens. We harvest whatever food I can manage to keep alive over our Texas summers, but every year I learn something new. I like planting my veggies in between flowering perennials and annuals! It's a little chaotic but so green and pretty!

What I love about creating art is that the media and subjects are limitless! And gardening has many variables that keep things interesting day to day! There's always the possibility to experiment and learn something new, so there is always room to grow (artfully).
